Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II was developed by LucasArts and released in 1997 as a sequel to 1995's Star Wars: Dark Forces continuing the Dark Forces series. It used the Sith engine, a truly 3D follow up to the 2.5D based Jedi engine, and received an expansion pack called Mysteries of the Sith in 1998. A sequel was released in 2002 called Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast developed by Raven Software using the Quake III engine, followed by Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy in 2003.
