The Serpent Riders Trilogy is a series of dark fantasy games created by Raven Software in partnership with id Software.
Games[]
- Heretic (1994)
- Hexen: Beyond Heretic (1995)
- Hexen II (1997)
Hexen received ports to the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. Heretic and Hexen use the Doom engine, while Hexen II uses the Quake engine. The original finale of the trilogy was going to be titled Hecatomb.
The game Heretic II (1998) follows on from Heretic, but is not part of the trilogy, and is a third-person shooter. It is also the only game in the franchise to have not seen a source code release or a digital reissue (excepting the Portal of Praevus expansion).
