In 2000 they released American McGee's Alice with Electronic Arts, built using id Software's Quake III engine with Ritual Entertainment's Übertools enhancements, and designed by former id staffer American McGee. They then went under while developing Counter-Strike: Condition Zero for Valve Software, later finished by Gearbox Software. Several team members left to form Nerve Software in 2001.
Strife was later digitally re-released in 2014 as The Original Strife: Veteran Edition by Nightdive Studios, who later re-released their Quake series expansions as part of their respective remasters in 2021 and 2023.
