Ritual Entertainment (initially Hipnotic Interactive) was an American video game developer, whose founders included Jim Dosé, Mark Dochtermann, and Richard Gray of 3D Realms, with Tom Mustaine of Wraith Corporation. It later developed games such as Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 in 2000, Star Trek: Elite Force II in 2003, and the abortive SiN Episodes in 2006 before being merged into Dochtermann's MumboJumbo in 2007.
The former two entries had utilized the Quake III engine with Ritual's own Übertools enhancements, while the latter used Valve Software's Source engine. Übertools was licensed to other developers, including Rogue Entertainment for American McGee's Alice in 2000, and 2015 Inc (who had previously developed the expansion pack SiN: Wages of Sin in 1999) for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and its expansions released in 2002 through 2003. Both were published by Electronic Arts, who also used the enhancements in James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire and James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing in 2001 and 2004. Übertools also powered the initial Call of Duty games, evolving into the IW engine.
Tom Mustaine would later found Escalation Studios in 2007 alongside Shawn Green, while Richard Gray founded Let It Rain Games in 2009.
