Raven Software is an American video game developer known for its partnerships with id Software, including the Serpent Riders Trilogy, and later as a developer on the Call of Duty franchise following from its purchase by Activision in 1997. Its initial release was the real-time first-person role-playing game Black Crypt in 1992 for the Amiga.

In the 2000s it developed first-person shooter games Soldier of Fortune, Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Quake 4, Wolfenstein, and Singularity. The last was developed using the Unreal engine, while every previous was on id Tech.

Similar to id, the source code for its Serpent Riders Trilogy was released, as was the code for its Jedi Knight games Elite Force and Quake 4 have been at least partially ported to compatible engine code.

They also developed the top-down action games Take No Prisoners and MageSlayer and several titles based on X-Men.
