90's First Person Shooters Wiki

The LithTech engine was developed by Monolith Productions initially in partnership with Microsoft as the "Direct Engine". It was later used for notable in-house titles such as No One Lives Forever, F.E.A.R., and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, as well as licensed for other games starting with Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child in 2000. Originally designed for Windows, it also saw support for Linux, Mac OS, and Amiga OS via the ports of Shogo by Hyperion Entertainment released in 2001; a BeOS version was also in development by Wildcard Design. Later versions would be made compatible with video game consoles, starting with the ports of Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child to the Dreamcast and No One Lives Forever to the PlayStation 2, as well as Tron 2.0: Killer App and Chicago Enforcer to the Xbox.
