Electronic Arts is an American-based computer game developer and publisher. In the first-person shooter genre, they are best known for the Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Crysis, and Titanfall series. In 1992 they purchased Origin Systems, owners of the Ultima and Wing Commander franchises, and published the sequel to their game System Shock under their own name in 1999. Founder Trip Hawkins founded The 3DO Company in 1991, which produced the 3DO game console.
