Battlezone (or BattleZone and Battle Zone) is a 1998 game released by Activision for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64. It is a re imagining of the arcade of the same name released in 1980 by Atari, Inc. Unlike the original, it combines first-person shooting with real-time strategy elements.
It received two expansion packs Battlezone: Battle Grounds and Battlezone: The Red Odyssey, published in 1998 and 1999 by Macmillan Digital Publishing. It then had a sequel the following year, Battlezone II: Combat Commander by Pandemic Studios, and a remastered re-release, Battlezone 98 Redux by Big Boat Interactive, in 2016.
